The first night I checked in, within an hour of my stay I was completely covered in bed bug bites. I quickly got my things and the nice male overnight clerk got me a new room and checked it for me without question. However, I had so many bites I ended up having an allergic reaction, was sick for two days, and had to go to urgent care.
I went to my third party booking site about the incident, and they called multiple times as well as emailed and got no response from the hotel. I then went to the desk clerk to make sure they got notes from the overnight one. Which they did. But they never followed up with me, and didn’t ask if they could do anything else after moving my room. They also said their GM “looked but didn’t find anything and it was out of their hands” and that they “couldn’t do anything” and if I wanted to talk to someone I had to try and come in at 7am the next day to hopefully run into their GM.
This was an entirely frustrating experience, where I didn’t even get to sleep the first night because I was showering and dealing with the most uncomfortable scenario possible. I had photos of the bug, my doctors note, and photos of my bites and no one even cared to talk to me about it because it was “out of their hands”.
I come to Dewey almost 6 times a year, I will never recommend this place, and I will never stay here again. Had they attempted to fix this problem, I honestly would’ve just appreciated that and moved on. But they did nothing but make me feel like I was a burden for bringing it up.

Memorial Day Weekend Getaway—Perfect for Families & Pets!
We stayed at the Atlantic Ocean Side for memorial day weekend and we had a great experience. Rooms and premises were very clean and entire staff was professional and friendly.
The location is absolutely perfect—steps from the beach and just a quick stroll to all the downtown restaurants and shops. I also loved that its a super pet-friendly hotel.
We'll definitely be back!

Great price, but you get what you pay for. Beds are comfy. Location is great. Love the terrace/rooftop setting. But service is mediocre at best. They never once cleaned our room during stay and when I mentioned to them the shower was barely draining, no one once followed up or fixed the issue. I don't think I would stay again.
