Homestead Campground

This was our first stay at this place and the atmosphere there and the management are simply amazing! I'm not sure if the couple running the office are a family, but they certainly make you feel like your are staying with a sweet warm family running their own family business. The grounds are very well maintained and manicured, everything is clean, well thought-out, organized, and shows care and attention. We stayed at one of their cabins and really liked the location of the cabin and the amenities it had, basically everything you need for a relaxing, home-like comfortable stay. We also had super nice neighbors right next to us, and also some that were not so nice, but the sweet lady at the office took care of everything and made sure our stay was nothing short of amazing. The number one reason people return to their place of business is a human factor, is how you were made feel at that place, being it a restaurant, a resort, or a retail place. Price is not the first nor the ultimate reason to come back. If you were made feel like crap you will not want to come back even if the prices are really low, more so, to bring your kids there! And on the other hand, if you know you will be appreciated and have an amazing positive experience at the place, you will find a way to come back even if there are cheaper places around. It's just how we are all wired, we dont like to have to pay for stressful, exhausting, or negative emotions, especially when you are trying to do the opposite, escape all that and relax with your family. This place is definitely the right place to do just that!

I can’t say enough about how much fun my wife and I had at Homestead Campgrounds. Imagine waking up early and driving 20 minutes to Rehoboth Beach to walk along the beach or boardwalk. 20 minutes in another direction and you’ll find yourself at a top notch Casino. If you like antiquing just head to Berlin MD. where you can also visit an 18th century hotel that is refurbished to look exactly as it did in 1898.
Location is important and Homestead has just that. The campground offers 2 pools, a store, basketball court and 2 dog parks so bring the pups with you. The hospitality from the owners is outstanding and they really made us feel at home.

We had an overall good experience. We were in the area for a baseball tournament at the Sports on the Beach complex so we didn't spend a ton of time at the campground. It was super convenient that is was so close to the sports complex. The campground seems to be primarily permanent sites. The only issue we had was with the 11 am checkout it created an problem with getting out in time without anywhere to park the camper during son's baseball games in the morning. Definitely caused some extra stress. They do not offer an extension option for a late checkout, just have to pay for another night.
