Houston White Co.

It was the day before Christmas Eve and I had reservations at other restaurants that I cancelled, and then made reservations to come here instead. When we arrived there were maybe 2 or 3 tables that were eating and there were quite a few tables still open. The host greeted us and then sat us directly in front of the door. I am not sure why you'd seat a reservation or anyone directly in front of the door if there were other seats available. (We were dressed nicely- not in pj pants like others). Nonetheless, I asked to be moved and the host told me that there were other reservations and that we'd have to stay where we were sitting. Luckily, I made eye contact with a server who then moved us in the next room behind the hostess stand (it wasn't until a half hour later where the restaurant truly got busy).

After the whole seating situation, we ordered our food which was the crab and lobster cocktail, which was super fresh and presented nicely. Then, we ordered a Ribeye with Blue Cheese- holy cow, it was DELICIOUS. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and it could have been cut with a butter knife...so tender! We also ordered the mashed potatoes, which were a dream- so fluffy and smooth. Overall, we enjoyed the food greatly, but definitely feeling a certain way when we left.

Excellent upscale restaurant. Perfect for special occasions. The staff even put a happy birthday placard on the table for our son. Service was prompt and steaks were absolutely amazing. Try this place if you’re in the area.

Such a nice steakhouse! My husband and I came for our anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed. The hostess gave us an amazing table by the windows, so we were able to watch the sunset as we ate. There was such a cozy, warm atmosphere. Dining here was a slow, but wonderful experience. It took about 1.5-2 hours from the moment we sat town to finishing the check. The cheddar biscuits were wonderful, the wine was excellent and the food was great. The table shares (sides) were enough for one serving for 4 people. So, take that in mind as you order! Also, I don’t recommend you bring kids! This is definitely aimed for adults. :-)

My only two issues were that: 1. The coke was from a bottle, which was kind of flat. 2. The hostess stand was this deli cooler and once it got dark out, the fluorescent light from the cooler was beaming, which took away from the cozy, romantic ambiance.

However, we both agreed that this place is a must-visit and we’ll be returning!
