My husband and I traveled from Virginia Beach to Delaware because we had never been there before. We chose the Bellmore Inn because it had good reviews and it looked beautiful. It is a beautiful hotel and we enjoyed our stay. The location is great as you can walk to all kinds of restaurants and shops, and even the beach. I would not say it was kid friendly. I think people with kids should probably find a hotel that caters more to children. This is more of a luxury couple and older people establishment. Some of the staff could have been a little friendlier and more attentive. It seemed like we were bothering them sometimes. The only other negative I would say is that they did not point out where our room would be. We were not in the main hotel, but in the outdoor portion. So we wandered around on the second floor, thinking we could not get into our room and finally heading back downstairs to then be shown outside to the location of our room. I think they should definitely at least point the guests in the right direction to their room. The breakfast was nice, we did wish that they could control the flies inside but I’m aware this is the time of the year they are bad. We would stay here again.

⭐️ A Longstanding Guest, Deeply Disappointed

Our family has been coming to The Bellmoor Inn and Spa for over 20 years, and for the past decade, we’ve made it a tradition to book two rooms for a 3-night stay every summer. It’s a trip we always look forward to—our time to relax, reconnect, and enjoy the charm of Rehoboth.

Over the years, we’ve seen changes at the Inn—some big, some small. We’ve adapted. The buffet changed, the rooms could use some updating (yes, including the sticky carpets), but we’ve never complained because we genuinely enjoy the overall experience.

Unfortunately, this visit left us with a sense of disappointment we haven’t felt before.

My mother had a fall while out in town—not on hotel property—but serious enough that we needed to cut our trip short by one day. We immediately notified the front desk. The woman working was kind enough to give us a bag of ice, but when we spoke to the gentleman at the desk, the first question out of his mouth was whether the fall occurred on hotel property—not “Is she okay?” That was… telling.

We settled my mother in her room, elevated her leg, and returned to the front desk to explain that we’d be leaving early due to the medical situation. We asked respectfully whether we might be credited for the unused night—not expecting, but hoping, for a gesture of goodwill given our long history with the Bellmoor.

We later received a call from the front desk informing us that the manager had declined our request, citing the summer season. And while that may be policy, it was a disheartening response—especially after decades of loyalty.

It made one thing clear: at the Bellmoor, loyalty feels like a one-way street. We’ve always returned, supported the Inn, and shared fond memories here. But when we found ourselves in a moment of need, we were met with policy over people.

It’s hard to say if we’ll return. There are plenty of other beautiful inns in Rehoboth, and next time, we may choose one that treats long-term guests as more than just a room number and a credit card.

We leave seriously disappointed—not because of the fall, but because of the response. Sometimes, it’s not what happens… it’s how it’s handled.

If you're looking for a charming, peaceful, and upscale hotel for a quick family escape to Rehoboth Beach, The Bellmoor Inn and Spa is a hidden gem that checks all the boxes. Tucked just a few blocks from the beach and boardwalk, the location is ideal—close enough to walk to everything, yet far enough to feel quiet and relaxing.

From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed. The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating, and the property itself feels like a cross between a boutique hotel and a luxurious bed-and-breakfast. The decor is elegant and coastal without being overdone, and everything was spotless, from the cozy lobby to the beautifully landscaped courtyard.

For families, The Bellmoor offers spacious suites that give everyone room to breathe. Our suite was thoughtfully laid out, with a separate living area, plenty of storage, and super comfy beds. The hotel also provides a complimentary breakfast buffet that was a huge hit—made-to-order omelets, fresh fruit, and plenty of options for both kids and adults.

One of the biggest highlights was the outdoor pool and hot tub, which felt like a private oasis. The kids loved swimming in the afternoons after a morning at the beach, and we appreciated the peaceful spa-like atmosphere. While The Bellmoor does offer a full-service spa for adults, it's still very welcoming for families. There are also cozy spots to relax throughout the property, including quiet reading nooks and garden seating areas.

The location made it easy to walk into town for dinner or ice cream, and we loved being able to stroll to the beach without worrying about parking. Rehoboth is such a fun, walkable town for families, and staying at The Bellmoor made everything even more enjoyable.

Whether you're traveling with young kids, teens, or even extended family, The Bellmoor Inn and Spa is the kind of place where everyone feels comfortable. It’s elegant without being stuffy, family-friendly without being chaotic, and relaxing without being boring.

We can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend for your next family getaway!
